Soapbox NY was a forum for public discussion using a display screen located on Waverly Street in New York City at the Tisch School of the Arts in the end of the Spring 2007.

On this screen, the question "If you could change one thing in the world, what would that be?" was posed for passersby, who were asked to respond via text message. Their responses got displayed almost instantly on the screen: the more people that responded, the more responses that were displayed. After sending their responses, each participant received on their cell phone a text message with a thanks note and with the website's url where there is more information about the project.
